Manufacturers representatives, often referred to as manufacturers reps or manufacturers agents, are independent contractors who sell multiple lines of complementary, non-competing products.
To oversimplify, a rep selling fasteners might sell nails, screws, bolts, staples, and adhesives, each from a different manufacturer. But the rep would not sell identical nails from two competing manufacturers.
